The culmination of our 60th Season brings together two wonderful groups- the renowned 24-voice chamber chorus Schola Cantorum from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and our own Providence Baroque Orchestra. Newly arrived Yale conductor Grete Pedersen leads a selection of Handel’s most celebratory and joyous works, his Coronation Anthems for George III. These majestic pieces were written in 1727, and have been performed for every British coronation since.
We will perform the beloved “Zadock the Priest” and “My heart is indicting” and include some A Capella pieces by the Schola as well.
We conclude our 60th Anniversary Season with a festive champagne reception!
