House of Time

Oboe, violin, cello and harpsichord –
Father, Son and Godfather

Performing Sunday, April 18, at St. Martin's Church
Providence, RI at 3:30 pm

Father, Son and Godfather refers to J.S Bach and his son Carl Philip Emmanuel, whose Godfather was G. P. Telemann. J. S. Bach and Telemann were friends, and possibly rivals, both being candidates for the prestigious Thomas School Cantor position in Leipzig. All three of their lives were closely intertwined. C. P. E. succeeded Telemann as Cantor and Music Director in Hamburg, and their musicalemployments overlapped.

Each of the three published a good deal of music, but each composer had quite a unique musical voice. We are delighted to welcome back our friends from New York City — the instrumental quartet House of Time.

Gonzalo Ruiz, oboe; Tatiana Daubek, violin; Matt Zucker, cello; Eliott Figg, harpsichord

“Musically suave, volatile and beguiling”
